Nikki & John's Halloween Wedding

N & J's Halloween Wedding at The Old Library in Digbeth was full of amazing touches, from a ‘Condolences’ Guest Book, to little Trick or Treat ghosts guarding the sweets, to gloss black pumpkins with dark and rich blooms for the centrepieces.

We were there to assist with the set up, turn the room from ceremony to sit down meal and to coordinate the day, alongside the venue's planner. We often work with the venue’s planners and it works really well- they usually have an idea of how things work for the venue- are great to have on hand should you need to ask any questions about the facilities and give an idea of how things have been done previously. We at Apple Tree get to know you as a couple, your wishes and make sure that everything is how you would like it- this can sometimes be more important when you are having an alternative wedding or would like things done slightly differently.

All the super cool pieces of furniture, props and the 'Til Death' neon backdrop was from This Will Be Forever. The black frame with bright letters were created by Sian and Stew, and all their furniture is beautifully looked after and in such great condition.

Dusky Blooms provided the florals, Nikki’s bouquet

And the magical Electric Blue Photography+Film were there to capture the day.

Vanessa & Stu's Neon Wedding Party

V&S eloped to the Scottish Highlands for an intimate wedding ceremony in 2020, but they wanted to have a big PARTY!!! for their friends and family in September 2021. They chose the wonderful The Old Library in Digbeth with its tall ceilings and very high beams .

At Apple Tree we created the decor within budget. We handmade the tassels for the tails of the lanterns and hung them from the beams (very high beams)...we also created the 10m balloon arch swag which provided so much colour in the perfect white room. The couple wanted simple little touches of disco balls and succulents that were dotted around the room to add sparkle.

The ‘Til Death Do Us Party’ neon from Vowed and Amazed looks even better at night than during the day. It looked so fricking cool!!

Thanks you so much Louise Holgate Photography for sharing the fabulous images.

Hannah & Sean's Bright City Wedding

Back in July, H&S had a bright fiesta of a wedding day and Apple Tree were there to set up all the decorations in the morning so the couple could relax and enjoy getting ready for their day.

Location: Fazeley Studios Digbeth, Birmingham. I love Digbeth- it has an edge, and Fazeley Studios has amazing high ceilings in the Grand Gallery. They have also just had new flooring in both of their events rooms that look amazing!

The hot colours all around the venue were a mixture provided by the couple, flowers by Perfect Bunch and aisle balloons by Go Style Balloon Deco which added such impact and colour and accentuated the back drop created by Apple Tree perfectly.

The bride looked just fabulous in her dress from David’s Bridal and hair and makeup by Glam By Abi Britt. What a bloody gorgeous couple they make.

Thank you Donna Harrison Smith for the amazing photos.

James & Joanna's North Yorkshire Village Wedding

Back in July I was overjoyed to be working with a beautiful couple, James & Joanna, on a glorious summer's day in Kettlewell at the village hall. The occasion was full of emotion, and I have to say I shed more than a few tears throughout the day. I was there to help run the day, J& J had a few last minute morning jobs to be carried out, a little electrical issue with a fuse that kept tripping, along with lots of suppliers to help coordinate and support on the day.

The vibe was relaxed and fun from start to finish, Fat Cat Brass Band played the procession from the church and then covered some absolute classics. The food was amazing courtesy of the The Blue Bell Kettlewell pub. Then the evening band, The Different Lights Band, were incredible and got everyone on their feet dancing the night away.

Thank you to Emilia Kate Photography and for sharing the beautiful photos.

Beth & Sinead's Beautiful & Stylish Barn Wedding

I LOVED working with Beth & Sinead, they were funny and warm and relaxed in their approach. They asked me to help with the coordination of their day- as they had a few external suppliers that they wanted me to bring together on the day and they wanted to ensure the dressing of the venue and their tables were how they envisaged.

The venue, Eden Wedding Barn was beautiful, and the atmosphere was perfect and romantic. The team there were awesome, they made sure the ceremony went without a glitch- supporting the registrars and that all the very heavy gorgeous tables were put into place.

We supported B&S pre-wedding day with a visit of the venue, timelines for the day and working with the last minute queries with other suppliers, ensuring the couple had a sounding board for ideas if needed and also making sure they knew they were supported for their day and someone had things in hand.

A massive thank you to Adam Riley Photography for the beautiful photos.

Rosa & Yolly's Energetic, Colourful & Emotional Wedding

Sometimes I take stock of what I do as my career and feel truly privileged and when Rosa & Yolly got married I felt it so entirely.

They both got in touch half way through their planning process when they decided that they needed some help with their wedding- daily life was busy and a really shitty beginning to the year (to put it mildly) meant they were behind with their planning. I know they won't mind me saying that they are not the most decisive of couples and so it was with tentative steps at first choosing décor and suppliers and timeline decisions, but soon followed by great strides towards the end. The journey however was great fun, we had skype calls regularly and planning sessions that turned into chats about dogs and house renovations and by the time the wedding day arrived I think I was as excited as I've ever been to be witnessing this pair say their vows and share their day. And my gosh it was emotional, and beautiful and fantastic.

With regards to styling Rosa and Yolly were clear in the colour and atmosphere, and we managed to pull together some beautiful coloured glass vases which were filled by Cottage Garden Flowers, and cut glass candle holders for bright colourful tapered candles.

We had a MASSIVE festival-esque order of the day sign in bright poppy colours which I hand painted- I love doing these!

And we also created a bright and very colourful backdrop for Made You Look's photobooth- first time I'd done this and I thought it looked amazing (if I do say so myself)

Myself and my wonderful colleague Fern worked our little socks off- putting up gazebos, stringing about reems of ribbon, helping the waiters (there was a man down), and setting out the evening cheese. And all the little in between parts such as making sure the music plays at the right time, handing out confetti, and announcing the couple as they entered the ballroom. The day, I think went swimmingly- only slightly hampered by the British weather, but Walcot ensured the inside was as comfortable as the outside in such a smooth and quick turnaround.

It was definitely one of the most original and definitely one of the most emotional/energetic/gorgeous weddings I've ever been at and I wish them all the love and happiness that two people can ever have.

Jodie & Lee's EPIC colour explosions wedding party

Oh my gosh, where to start with this one! The most colourful, amazing, tasty wedding EVER. And Jodie & Lee are probably two of the loveliest, perfect pair, you will ever come across.

Venue: Thorner Victory Hall

What we at Apple Tree were involved with: creating 12 pom-pom cascading rainbow coloured chandeliers (from scratch), rainbow tissue tassels, woollen pom-pom garlands,
layered gold and pink foil curtains, rose gold table runners, handwritten wedding sign and an inflatable unicorn. Jodie & Lee also supplied us with lovely wee cacti in disco balls, colourful animals wearing hats, temporary tatts and a whole heap of sweets and chocolate bark.
I had an absolute blast being involved with the creative, installation and the coordination of this wedding and a big thank you to my small team.

A special thank you to Parrot & Pineapple Photography for sharing these beautiful photos.

Featuring Yorkshire Bartender, Baked in Brick, Sugar Spun Sisters, Luke Howells - Magician, Deckheds, Wish Upon A Sparkle and Doris Loves. Jodie wore a dress by The Couture Company Designer wedding gowns and shoes from Irregular Choice with hair and make up by Kimberley Brook Makeup & Hair Artist.

Scott & Jo's Wedding by the lake

When Scott & Jo got in touch with me to ask for help at Hadsham Farm I jumped at the chance- it was a return to where I had got married a few years before, and what a venue it is! They needed someone to create the feel of their day, a relaxed, simple design with beautiful calm tones to match their surroundings and I was delighted to work with such a gorgeous couple.

I created paper decorations for them- large pom-poms to hand around the tipi from The Natural Tent Company, they were made from a range of recycled eco friendly tissue paper and cotton thread, we also created paper tassels to fringe the front of the tipi and then beautiful ferns and peace lily’s on all the tables. We made use of natural materials such as wood, moss and ivy to give a calm, woodland feel, along with the wedding arch from simple foliage and the most MAGNIFICENT white hydrangeas.

They didn’t need us for the relaxed and personal day- and so as soon as the décor and tables looked beautiful we scarpered and left them to enjoy their day.

Thank you very much to the hugely talented Alexandra Jane Photography for sharing the images

Chloe & Phil's Creative Woodland Wedding in the Heart of Sherwood Forest

Chloe & Phil both looked stunning, as did their woodland setting at Sherwood Forest. Their relaxed atmosphere suited them and their guests to a tee.

Chloe & Phil wanted their decor to be influenced by their surroundings and so we used a lot of moss, ivy and a mix of wild and cut flowers, Chloe walked down the aisle on a carpet of autumn oak leaves and their ceremony table was layered with ferns and foliage.

We also hand crafted the floral and foliage wreaths that hung from the beams, suspended both over the couple in the ceremony room and above the banqueting table (and they smelt amazing by the way). We included their favourite tipple, Morgan Spiced into the table decorations wrapped in ivy and twinkling with lights, along with tea lights upon wooden slices.

Outside we had foliage wreaths hanging vertically from the beams with strings of fairy lights.

REVIEW: Rosie & Chris's lovely words

Sharelle was brilliant from beginning to end! I knew as soon as I met her that she would do a fabulous job with decorating the venue for our wedding - and what a brilliant job she did! She worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Apple Tree Events to anyone needing that extra pair of hands in the run up to their wedding and on the day, as you couldn't have anyone better than Sharelle. Thank you!

Thank you guys,

Helen & Rob's Creative and Fun-filled Day

On March 27th Helen & Rob got married. They had a very special and personal hand-fasting ceremony, during which all the guest sang Randy Newman's 'You Got a Friend In Me'. The theme was colour, in truth they wanted such an individual day that they had 7 separate themes... Japan, Lego, 80's, Movies, TV, Minecraft and Comic Books, all with personal meanings to them as a couple and I was thrilled they asked me to create this for them.

Helen & Rob asked me to design, coordinate and help plan their day. The design process was challenging but one of the most interesting and creative I have ever worked on. Each table had handcrafted items, along with bought pieces... my favourite items to make were the pompom Pacman and Pacwoman, the entire Comic Book table with the handcrafted namecards/masks/place settings, the paper crane curtain and the duplo cake stand (which the beautiful cake looked amazing on!

Thanks to all of the suppliers for the day:

As always, if you would like any details on how I created some of the magical touches for Helen & Rob's fantastic day please do get in touch.

REVIEW: Helen & Dean's lovely words

These generous and unbelievably kind words from Helen & Dean brought a tear to my eye... genuinely made up to have been part of their incredible day:

What can we say about Sharelle?  Lovely, creative, super organised to name just a few things!

We wanted a totally unique wedding, so initially booked our venue and then went scouting for our suppliers such as food, bar, tables and chairs.  What we hadn’t thought about at that stage was who was going to organise everyone during the run up to the wedding and on the day itself.
Our photographer felt that based on previous experience, we should have an event organiser for the day to make sure that it ran smoothly, and recommended Sharelle to us.  As soon as we met her we knew that we wanted to have her help with our day.  Part of the ethos of our day was that we used independent suppliers, and we booked a lot of our suppliers based on whether we felt like we connected with them when we spoke – we didn’t want to use anyone who made us feel that we were just part of the big ‘wedding machine’.  Sharelle fitted in perfectly with this, and so we booked her! J
In the lead up to the wedding, we handed over the reins to Sharelle to deal directly with our suppliers, which definitely takes the pressure off when you’re leading up to such a big event.
We spent the day before the wedding prepping our venue, decorating and getting everything ready.  Sharelle made us some giant letters which everyone loved, and we used some of her bunting and fairy lights – we’d definitely recommend hiring these bits and pieces from her rather than trying to spend forever making it!
On the day, she was a godsend, we didn’t have to worry about sorting out our suppliers, timings, speeches etc… it all just seemed to magically happen!  Our room was turned around and laid out by Sharelle, which again we didn’t even realise was happening.  Everything ran perfectly smoothly, and there were no hitches or issues, which we’d say was pretty much totally down to Sharelle!
We guess when you’re first organising your wedding, you might think that you don’t really need an event organiser, or someone to help in the lead up to the day.  Our advice would be that you definitely do – who wants to be telling their guests where to get a taxi from, or letting one of the suppliers know where to find a tap when you’re all suited and booted and have bigger things on your mind?!  It really takes away the stress and lets you focus on marrying your other half rather than the ins and outs of the day.
Sharelle was just brilliant, she helped to make our wedding perfect and I think we probably need a Sharelle for all of lifes planning!

Ralph & Debbie's 25th Wedding Anniversary

Usually I am there at the beginning of the journey, but this weekend I was privileged to see what love looks like after 25 years of marriage, for Ralph and Debbie's Silver Wedding Anniversary and it's glorious. I have to say the speeches left me more than a little emotional (I had to go have a little cry).

The day was a wonderfully relaxed at their family home with BBQ lunch and a Pool Party for 130. There was an ice cream bicycle, karaoke and a live band. It was a fabulous day! I only have some pre-party photos but should be getting a few more of the day at some point to share with you.

Thank you to Avala Catering, for both the day time and evening food- the team were a dream to work with; Matt Benecci Ice Cream Bike with their delicious ice creams; Anthology Vintage Hire who's tables, chairs and benches looked stunning in the Carron Marquees 9' x 12' marquee.
Live music from Murdoch's Crazy Eyes who got everyone on their feet.

Today at The Vintage Chic Wedding Fair

What a lovely day today at The Vintage Chic Wedding Fair, The Pump Room's were bright and airy. If you are looking for a central Leamington location I think it would be a fantastic wedding venue.

Vintage can often be twee and sometimes miss the mark, but with a bit of extra effort vintage can look flawless and be a beautiful back drop to your wedding day.

If you are looking for a vintage style don't be afraid to mix and match with brighter colours, vintage works well with bright pink, teal and gold.  There are also a load of ways to D.I.Y. vintage- bunting, home-grown flowers, and cakes. Also don't be afraid to rummage around charity shops and spend a bit of money, we all think they should be super cheap but to get a lovely cut glass vase or pretty porcelain you may have to spend £4-£6 per piece.
